WHERE IS CORUNNA or COURTRIGHT?

We are located just south of "The Chemical Valley of Canada" the City of Sarnia, Ontario, in the County of Lambton. And, as you can see from the map, above, we are near the shore of beautiful Lake Huron. But, better still we are right on the shore of the St. Clair River where huge lake and ocean going freighters abound. Better still they come quite close to shore and boat viewing is fantastic. As a matter of fact our area is known as "Bluewater Country" and first time visitors are always amazed at the true blue colour of the water in Lake Huron and the St. Clair River.

This area is called Canada's Chemical Valley because it was the birthplace of the modern petro-chemical industry. It was not far from here, in Oil Springs, that oil was first discovered in North America and was refined in facilities just east of us in Petrolia.

Did you know that at one time, many, many years ago back in the 1800's, it was proposed that Corunna become the Capital of Canada?

Some sites to visit and get information on Sarnia and area are:
  • SarniaFind

  • City of Sarnia
  • The Bluewater Bridges (there are two) between Sarnia (actually Point Edward), Ontario and
    Port Huron, Michigan.
